Centre for Autism—University of Reading

Branding

The Centre for Autism is a regional hub for clinical services and research on Autism Spectrum Disorders located within the University of Reading.

I was approached to design a brand identity and supporting guidelines to the institute that would unify their communications.

After an initial consultation, we came away with words such as brain, maze, patchwork, jigsaws, signposting, fractal and kaleidoscope—all of which work as metaphors for individuals of autism and featured in the v1 concept designs.

—Brand identity
—Brand guidelines

I have been very impressed with the branding and design work done by Jon for the Centre for Autism at the University of Reading. The cordiality and professionalism of the team and the willingness to incorporate input from the end-users at all points of the design process stands out. Strongly recommended!”
